Innovative silicone adhesive technology

These skin-friendly plasters have been designed to minimize trauma and pain during plaster removal, while ensuring reliable adhesion during wear.

The removal of a plaster with traditional adhesive can result in damage and pain due to the stripping of epidermal cells and hair.

Thanks to its extremely soft and gentle silicone adhesive, Ultra Sensitive is painless to remove, without disruption of the skin barrier. When removed, it leaves the skin free from residues, no matter how long it has been on the skin.

During wear, the silicone gel layer of Ultra Sensitive creates a perfect bond between the plaster and the uneven surface of the skin. As a result, the plaster sticks securely to the skin, even after being repositioned.

Who is Elastoplast Ultra Sensitive for?

These sensitive plasters are the ideal solution for people with fragile, irritated or sensitive skin who require extra-gentle and soft wound treatment. They’re also an excellent choice when frequent plaster changes are necessary. Silicone Soft plasters are the perfect solution for all those experiencing pain or anxiety at plaster removal.

Ultra Sensitive is available in normal and XL formats for the protection and covering of minor medium to larger wounds. It is suitable after minor surgery.

Always read the label. Follow the directions for use. If symptoms persist contact your healthcare provider.

How to Use

1. Cleanse

Cleansing the wound from dirt and bacteria is an essential first step to enable optimal healing. To prevent wound infections, spray Elastoplast Wound Spray from a distance of approximately 10cm onto the entire wound area. Repeat if necessary, then gently dry the wound and surrounding skin area.

Important: A minor wound will soon stop bleeding. If it continues, apply more gauze pads, keep pressure on the wound and seek medical advice.

2. Protect

Next, it’s important to protect the wound from external influences like dirt and bacteria to enable undisturbed healing. Cover your wound with the Elastoplast sterile wound dressing that best suits your needs. Observe your wound and change the plaster or dressing daily unless you’ve been recommended to do otherwise by your doctor. You might find this wound dressing know-how article useful.

3. Heal

Help your wound heal safely, quickly and with a lower risk of scarring. Apply Elastoplast Wound Healing Ointment regularly until your wound has healed completely. Carefully apply a thin film one to two times per day. Make sure the opening of the tube does not get in contact with your wound. Repeat regularly until the healing is completed. The Elastoplast Wound Healing Ointment can be used on open minor superficial wounds and at any stage of the healing process. If necessary, the wound can be covered with a Elastoplast standard plaster, such as Fabric, Water Resistant or Sensitive.

FAQ (8)

  • 1. How often should I change my plaster?

It’s recommended to change plasters daily for hygiene.
  • 2. Can I use Ultra Sensitive more than once?

No, Ultra Sensitive is a single-use product.
  • 3. How should I apply Ultra Sensitive?

Before applying Ultra Sensitive, wash your hands. Then, clean and dry the area thoroughly, and make sure the skin is free of soap residue or lotion. Peel off the release liner of Ultra Sensitive. Take care not to touch the wound pad. Apply Ultra Sensitive over the wound without stretching the plaster.
  • 4. How should I remove Ultra Sensitive?

To remove Ultra Sensitive, grasp one edge of the plaster and gently lift the edge. With the other hand, place fingers on the surrounding skin and support removal by holding the skin taut. Gently remove the plaster keeping it close to skin and pull in the direction of hair growth.
  • 5. Can Ultra Sensitive be repositioned?

If adjustment of the position of the plaster is required, Ultra Sensitive plasters can be repositioned without losing their adhesive power.
  • 6. Is it better to let small wounds dry in the fresh air instead of putting on a plaster?

It is one of the wound care myths that keeping minor cuts and grazes uncovered and let air to them helps them to heal faster. The contrary is true! Research shows that covered wounds heal more efficiently and have a reduced risk of infection. Elastoplast products provide protection until the wound is completely healed.
  • 7. When should I consult a doctor?

We recommend contacting a medical professional under the following circumstances:

    • If the wound is deep and causing major bleeding
    • If the wound shows signs of infection such as redness, warmth, pain and swelling
    • If there are embedded foreign objects in it
    • In case of animal or human bites
    • If the wound is in the area of the face
    • If there is insufficient tetanus vaccination
Always when you have questions or are uncertain.
  • 8. What if my wound gets infected and suppurates?

You should contact a medical professional if you recognize signs of infection. This is not only the occurrence of pus but also swelling, redness, heat, pain, itching or burning. In case of infection the wound will need medical care and special medical treatment.

Longer strips please to cut to size
The only plaster I can use ,fantastic , but I would like to be able to buy a box of plaster say 7cm x15cm which could be cut to size just like other elastoplast products that are available.

    Ultra sensitive plasters work!
This product is the only one I buy now that my skin is thinner. No more capillaries bursting trying to remove sticky plasters! Many pharmacies don't stock them or only have one size. I travel from place to place looking for it.
