Elastoplast Kids First Aid Program

Welcome to the Elastoplast Kids First Aid program. The program was created with the intention of providing teachers across Australia with ready-to-use lesson plans and resources to help teach basic first aid to students in the classroom. Created in conjunction with the Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER). and with input from practicing teachers, the resources are mapped to the current Australian curriculum and geared towards Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2.

The Resources

Geared towards Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2, all of our lesson plans and resources are mapped to the Australian curriculum and aimed at building basic first aid awareness and knowledge in the formative early years. The resources have been created in conjunction with active teaching staff as well as with the approval and input of the Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER).

Foundation

Foundation students identify actions that help them be healthy, safe and physically active. They demonstrate, with guidance, practices and protective behaviours to keep themselves safe and healthy. In addition to, practicing strategies they can use when they feel uncomfortable, unsafe or need help with a task, problem or situation.

Year 1

Students describe how to keep themselves and others healthy and safe. They select and apply strategies to keep themselves healthy and safe and are able to ask for help with tasks or problems.

Stage 2 students identify situations that feel safe or unsafe. Identify positive ways to initiate, join and interrupt conversations with adults and peers. Identify options when making decisions to meet their needs and the needs of others.
