Superior plaster technology used in hospitals

Soft silicone dressings are already widely used in hospital settings, in particular for Advanced Wound Care. These dressings use a soft silicone gel as an adhesive that minimises trauma to the wound at dressing change, helping to avoid patient pain without compromising care. For this reason, they are especially suited for people with sensitive, easily irritated or fragile skin.

Silicone Soft

Silicone Soft sets a standard in wound care by bringing the advanced silicone technology known from hospitals to consumer’s homes.

These new plasters use an innovative silicone gel as an adhesive, which creates a perfect bond between the plaster and the skin. Silicone Soft sticks securely to the skin, even after being repositioned. At the same time, Silicone Soft plasters can be removed with minimal stripping of epidermal skin layers. No matter how long the silicone has been on the skin's surface, it removes cleanly without disrupting skin layers or causing pain.

Silicone Soft is the ideal solution for people with fragile, irritated or sensitive skin who require extra-gentle and soft wound treatment. It is also an excellent choice when frequent plaster changes are necessary.

Silicone gel has a low surface tension and an excellent ability to conform to the uneven surface of the skin, filling minute gaps and providing a broader contact area than traditional plaster adhesives. It adheres to skin securely, forming an immediate bond and providing a long-lasting adhesion over the entire application time. As silicone gel does not lose adhesion when removed from the skin, it will stick securely even after being repositioned, in case correction to the position of the plaster is required during application.

Upon removal, the peel force is distributed over a large area of skin resulting in a minimum skin stripping. Its softness and pliability means it can be removed pain-free, without disruption of the skin barrier.

Advantages at a glance:

  • Adheres securely, even after being repositioned
  • Easy and painless to remove, without disruption of the skin barrier
  • Does not leave adhesive residues on the skin
