Rigid Strapping Tape

Elastoplast Rigid Strapping Tape is a robust supportive tape that stabilises joints during vigorous physical activity in all conditions. Effective in both preventative and rehabilitation taping techniques.

Restricts the movement of ligaments, tendons and joints to prevent injury or re-injury under high-stress conditions. Constructed to be as stable as possible with a rubber zinc oxide adhesive mass.

The athletic tape is flesh coloured with pink edges. The pink edges provide quicker application while simultaneously eliminating threading. Be sure to seek advice from a physiotherapist if you’re unsure about the most effective strapping techniques.

How to Use

Conduct a patch test on your arm or regularly taped area so that you can gauge if you are allergic to the rubber zinc oxide adhesive bandage.

FAQ (1)

  • How do I remove rigid strapping tape?

The most ideal way to remove strapping tape is with purpose-made bandage scissors. Place scissors over a soft part of your limb, then slide under the tape and cut. Use your fingers to peel down gently and evenly over the top of the tape. Avoid peeling at right angles away from the limb.

Elastoplast strapping tapes are designed to not leave behind residue, but will sometimes remain quite sticky, even after extended periods of sweating. If removing your strapping tape is causing pain, try applying tape remover, eucalyptus oil or rubbing alcohol to dissolve the adhesive mass.

    Poor Quality
Something has changed with this tape! For 20 years I have used this product which worked well. However the last few rolls, have been poor quality. It no longer sticks and starts peeling as soon as moisture gets on it, which is strange for a strapping tape which is designed for stability of ankles, wrists, etc that will sweat. Won’t be buying this again!

    Terrible!!!!!
Product does not stick well to either skin or itself. The 50mm strapping tape literally falls off. I've now had to buy this from a couple of different chemists, so not just one bad batch and it is very poor quality. When you are looking to strap an ankle to prevent further injury, it's actually dangerous that this is being sold as an option. Not a good product.

    Unreliable
I bought this from recommendations from my pharmacy to be bitterly disappointed! Not only does the tape not adhere to the skin, but it also will not stick to itself! Within minutes the tape had peeled itself away from the tape it was overlapping! Also, 1 minute in the ocean it is rolling up, same with the shower. Tried alcohol wipes prior, let skin dry.. same poor result! Terrible! I will not buy again, and recommend not wasting your time and money
